Dreamland is one of the Dreameria selections, forming a neat grassy hummock of narrow evergreen leaves topped with papery globe flowers on thin upright stems.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eLeft alone, the finished heads dry off and the centre of the clump slowly opens out and goes bare. Shear the flower stems off at the base as they fade, trim the tussock lightly, and the plant stays dense and pushes another flush. Every few years lift and split the clump, discarding the tired middle and replanting the vigorous outer pieces. The growing conditions are simple: full sun, sharp drainage, low fertility. Overfeeding gives you soft leaves and few flowers. It suits pots, rock crevices, exposed coastal beds and edging where you want something low and evergreen that will not run.
