Vivid Dreams sits at the stronger coloured end of the Dreameria range, selected for depth of flower colour and a longer season than the old species forms.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eGrow it hard. Full sun, coarse gritty soil, no rich compost against the crown, and drip irrigation rather than sprinklers, because water sitting in the middle of the tussock in warm weather is what rots it. Pair it with plants that want the same treatment, such as sedums, thyme, dianthus and small succulents in a gravel bed, rather than dropping it into a watered lawn edge. In a pot it needs a free draining mix and a light hand with fertiliser.
