Out of flower the leaves earn their place anyway: deep glossy green above, flushed rich purple underneath, on soft purple-tinged stems.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eIt belongs in shade or morning sun, under eaves, on a covered patio, or along the dim strip beside a south-facing wall. Harsh afternoon sun bleaches and scorches the leaves.
