Sasanqua Camellia - Camellia sasanqua
If you want a camellia you can actually clip into a hedge, this is the group to buy. Sasanquas carry smaller leaves and finer twiggy growth than japonicas, they take shearing without sulking, and they are the camellias used for espalier against a wall or a tight screen down a side boundary.
Flowering runs through autumn, ahead of the japonicas, and the petals shatter and fall singly rather than the whole bloom dropping intact. That is a genuine siting consideration: a sasanqua over a pool or pale pavers means sweeping for several weeks. Put it where the fall lands on garden bed instead.
Soil matters more than most people allow for. They want an acid to neutral mix with real organic matter, mulch kept clear of the trunk, and steady moisture through late summer while next season's flower buds are forming. Let one dry out badly at that point and the buds go brown and drop before they ever open.

The size shown is the pot the plant arrives in, which is the rootball, not the height of the plant. The smaller pots hold younger plants that cost less each and establish quickly, which suits hedges, screens and mass planting where the plant count adds up. The larger sizes carry several more years of growth on the farm and give height and presence straight away, which is what you want for a single feature position or a screen that cannot wait.
