How quickly should I plant it?
For best results, unpack your plant promptly, water it well, and plant it as soon as practical.
Give your plant the best start after delivery.
- Unpack your plant promptly and check the soil moisture on arrival.
- Water deeply after planting to settle soil around the root zone.
- Keep soil evenly moist while the plant establishes, without leaving it waterlogged.
- Choose a planting position suited to the plant's light requirements.
- Add mulch around the base to help retain moisture and reduce weeds.
- Avoid piling mulch against the trunk or stem.
- For hedging or screening plants, trim lightly once established to encourage denser growth.
Care requirements vary by variety, climate, season, and planting location. Always match watering, sunlight, and soil conditions to the specific plant you are buying.

Crepe Myrtle - Lagerstroemia Zuni Tree form
Tree form means this Zuni has been grown on a single clear trunk rather than left as a multi-stemmed shrub, so it can go where you need clearance underneath: over a path, beside a driveway, or in a narrow verge under wires.
Zuni came out of the American breeding program that crossed the old Indian crepe myrtle with the Japanese species, and it inherited both good mildew resistance and a semi-dwarf frame. Flowers are mid lavender, held in dense trusses through the warmer months, and the foliage colours orange to red before it drops in autumn. Bark on the trunk mottles and peels as it ages.
The maintenance that actually matters is keeping that trunk clear. Rub off basal shoots and water sprouts while they are still soft for the first few seasons, or it quietly turns itself back into a bush. Full sun, low to moderate water once established.
Choosing a size
This plant is available in 2 sizes, from 300mm up to 400mm, priced from $119.00 to $229.00 per plant. The size shown is the pot the plant arrives in, which is the rootball, not the height of the plant. Every size here is established stock rather than a starter plant, so this line is intended for immediate effect rather than for growing on. Not sure which to choose? Read our guide to choosing and caring for crepe myrtles.
