White Star Creeper - Pratia pedunculata White
Two different plants get sold in Australia as blue star creeper, and it pays to know which one is in the pot. This is Pratia pedunculata, now botanically Lobelia pedunculata, a native matting perennial. The other is Isotoma fluviatilis. The White form swaps the usual pale blue for clean white stars scattered over a flat, evergreen carpet of tiny leaves, which reads better against dark bluestone or basalt paving.
Use it in the joints between steppers, around a pond edge, or as green fill in a damp, part-shaded courtyard bed. It roots as it runs and closes gaps quickly once it has moisture.
That same vigour is the catch. It creeps into lawn and neighbouring beds and is difficult to pull cleanly out of turf, so give it a hard edge to work against. It also browns off badly in baking, unirrigated positions, which rules out a hot western strip.

The size shown is the pot the plant arrives in, which is the rootball, not the height of the plant.
