African Daisy

African daisies (Osteospermum) deliver more flower per dollar than almost anything else in the garden centre: sheets of jewel-toned daisies from late winter through summer on tough silver-green mounds. This page lists every osteospermum available from our partner farms.

The Serenity series carries the main display, bred for compact habit and long flowering: Serenity Red, Serenity Bronze, Coral Magic and Rose Magic, whose flowers shift tone as they age. The 3D types add fully double anemone-centred blooms that stay open in dull weather when single daisies close: 3D Double Yellow and 3D Deep Sun. Growing notes: treat African daisies as short-lived perennial colour, brilliant for two to four years, and plant them where they get full sun and sharp drainage; they flower hardest slightly hungry and dry, and sulk in rich wet soil. Shear plants back by a third after each big flush to trigger the next one, and give them a light feed in late winter as buds set.
