Cypress Pine - Callitris oblonga nana
Not many Australian conifers are small enough to use the way you would use a clipped exotic, which is what makes this dwarf form of the pigmy cypress pine worth knowing. The species is a rare, restricted plant of river banks in Tasmania and a few mainland populations, and it carries dense, fine, aromatic foliage in flattened sprays on a tight upright frame, with small woody cones sitting close in against the branches.
In a 330mm pot you are buying an advanced plant, so it can go straight in as a pair either side of steps, a tub specimen, or a native alternative to a low conifer hedge.
Give it full sun and drainage. It thins and goes lanky in shade, and like most cypress pines it does not reshoot reliably from old bare wood, so trim lightly and often rather than cutting hard once it has outgrown its spot. Do not confuse it with the taller Callitris rhomboidea.
