Lavender - Purple Reign Lavinnova® Lavandula hyb.
In a hot open bed with sharp drainage and nothing shading it, this is the kind of lavender that earns its space. Purple Reign is one of the deeper-toned Lavinnova hybrids, bred for a long flowering season rather than a single burst, and strong flower colour holds up under bright Australian light far better than the pales and whites in the range.
It works as a low informal hedge along a path or driveway, as a repeated block through a dry garden, or as bee forage near a vegetable patch. Bees, hoverflies and native pollinators work lavender heavily all day.
