For best results, unpack your plant promptly, water it well, and plant it as soon as practical.

Native Rosemary - Westringia 'WES03' PBR Blue Gem TM
Salt wind, sand and benign neglect are the conditions where a westringia looks its best, and Blue Gem was selected for a denser, finer habit than the old coastal rosemary in exactly that setting. The foliage is small and grey green, held in whorls around the stem, with mauve blue flowers appearing through much of the year and peaking in the warm months.
It is not rosemary. The common name catches people out every season: this is an Australian native in the mint family, with no culinary use and no aroma when you brush past it.
The two ways gardeners lose it are wet feet and bad pruning. Clay that stays damp through winter will kill an established plant far faster than a dry summer ever will, so mound the bed or fix the drainage before planting. Start clipping while the plant is young and keep trimming into green growth, because cuts made back into bare interior wood will not reshoot.
