Flax Lily - Dianella 'DRG04' PBR Revelation
Not every flax lily is worth planting for its foliage alone. Revelation was bred in that direction, carrying purple and burgundy tones through the strap leaves instead of plain mid green, with the colour deepening in cooler weather and in an open, sunny position.
Because it is a PBR selection propagated by division under licence, every plant runs true. That matters more than it sounds. Seed raised Dianella varies wildly in height, leaf width and colour, and a mass planting grown from seed can look like three different species by its second year.
Do not confuse Dianella with Lomandra when you are specifying. Flax lily has flatter leaves arranged in a two ranked fan, blue flowers and blue berries; mat rush is a coarser tussock with tougher, keeled foliage. They fill similar roles in a bed, but Dianella prefers a little more moisture and appreciates part shade in hot inland gardens, while mat rush will sit in a harder spot.

This plant is available in 2 sizes, from 140mm up to 5L, priced from $17.95 to $30.95 per plant. The size shown is the pot the plant arrives in, which is the rootball, not the height of the plant.
