Growing notes: eremophilas come from country where rain is an event, so drainage is everything. Full sun, sandy or gravelly soil, or a mounded bed over clay, and water only to establish; after the first summer, rainfall does the job in most of southern and inland Australia. Prune lightly and often after flowering flushes to keep plants dense, avoid rich composts and high-phosphorus fertilisers, and in humid coastal districts give them your most open, breezy position. The grey-leafed forms in particular repay a spot where air moves.

Flowers appear on and off almost year-round, with the main flush late winter through spring, right when honeyeaters need it.
